Your 4D apps in the Mac App Store

05.01.2011
by 4D Team

Apple is launching its Mac App Store this week, and it promises to do for Mac desktop applications what the iTunes App Store has done for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. 4D is pleased to announce that you may begin submitting your own 4D applications for distribution via the Mac App Store.

4D developers are encouraged to submit standalone, desktop versions of their applications to the Mac App Store.

A number of requirements apply: On the Apple side, you must be a member of the Mac Developer Program, and your solution must adhere to Apple's App Store rules. On the 4D side, you will need to have a valid license for 4D Developer Professional or 4D OEM Desktop (or be a member of the 4D Partner program, which includes such a license) - this will allow you to build double-clickable desktop applications from your 4D solutions.

Having your 4D app on the Mac App Store not only means the chance to increase your Mac platform sales, but also gain increased exposure for your Windows and other solutions. We feel this is a very exciting opportunity, so we have created a special section on the 4D site to give you the information you need, as well as some guidelines and tools on our part.
