RELEASE NOTES
As a minor update, 4D v11 SQL Release 6 contains a number of bug fixes since the previous release. The most significant fix relates to a bug introduced in Release 5, which occured when converting older databases containing subtables.
As an update release, 4D v11 SQL Release 5 contains numerous under-the-hood improvements and optimizations resulting from changes and fixes made to achieve compatibility with the latest operating systems. Over 200 fixes have been made to 4D v11 SQL since the previous release.
As an intermediary release, this version is primarily comprised of under-the-hood improvements lending to increased stability. It also introduces support for the Windows DEP security standard, several language updates for improved menu and interface management, and some new commands as well.
The principal features of this new version are its robustness and scalability. The stability offered in this version comes thanks to corrections made over the last few months (around 200 bug fixes in all). We have now achieved an extremely satisfying level of stability under production conditions, and we have completed everything on our features checklist.
In addition to the availablility of 4D Server v11 SQL as of v11.2, stunning new interface features bring enhanced software ergonomics to developers and end-users alike, with in-depth integration of standards like JavaScript and SVG (scalable vector graphics). The new Web Area object gives developers the ability to incorporate HTML content, PDF files, Office documents, QuickTime movies, and Flash animations directly into their solutions.
4D v11 SQL Release 1 (11.1) is fully certified for Mac OS X Leopard. Developers can now use the latest 4D application to build business applications for the latest version of both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
