San Jose, CA., January 13, 2003 - 4D, Inc., publishers of the 4th Dimension RAD/RDBMS Environment and 4D WebSTAR Server Suite, today announced that the 4th Dimension suite of tools was used to assist in the development of the recently announced HP OpenView Storage Media Operations. The HP OpenView storage management software family enables dramatically improved levels of management simplicity and automation.

HP OpenView Storage Media Operations is designed for the many companies faced with overwhelming amounts of removable media. The first heterogeneous media management tool from a major systems vendor, it automates removable storage media tracking and enforces policies to increase data availability and maximize the effectiveness of media operations. The software is currently in use at more than a dozen HP data centers around the world managing more than 900,000 pieces of storage media.
