Having the ability to extend custom functionality outside of 4D has been a distinguishing factor of 4D-based systems and continues to support a growing and active 3rd party plug-in development community. Developers have free access to the downloadable 4D SDK. With over 500 commands available, 4D plug-in developers have a carefully composed and tightly integrated interaction with 4D.
