WAKANDA

Follow your instinct

4D
Rich. Internet. Business. Applications. RIBA? RIBs? 4D’s latest project is aimed at a segment so new, there isn’t even a standard acronym for it. And our work on it is so advanced, we may even be the ones to name it.

4D has unveiled Wakanda™, a new project under development, aimed at the rapidly growing Web application market. It’s an end-to-end JavaScript platform for the development and deployment of Business Internet Applications, designed to keep Internet developers in the loop on their application development projects, from beginning to end. Using the Web as an interface to employ JavaScript on the client and server side – with no intermediary technology necessary – Wakanda cuts out the middleman and puts the sole developer back in charge.

It’s not 4D

To be clear, Wakanda is not part of the regular 4D product line. It will be its own product, independent of 4D v11 SQL. We will, of course, offer a bridge to connect the two products in order for interested 4D developers to interface with it. This project is directed at – in addition to our current developer community – bringing in an entirely new segment of developers. In fact, it even has its own Web site, and a distinct R&D team that we’ve recruited to dedicate to this effort.

It’s about growth

The Web application market is growing so fast that it’s impossible to ignore. 4D feels that with our experience and expertise in creating tools to develop business solutions, we have a lot to offer in this field. This project is true to our philosophy of simplifying complex challenges for businesses, developers and users.

4D is sticking around

Wakanda will not replace 4D, and 4D developers can rest assured that we are moving ahead at full steam on the 4D product line. There will continue be new versions of 4D for a long time to come, and we will integrate the innovations we make in the development of Wakanda in 4D, and vice versa.
